These past 8-10 months have been one of the most busiest periods of my life. As many of you may be aware of, there are scholarship and selective entrance exams for prestigious schools. I had attempted these exams and prepared through my summer holiday break. Unfortunately, while I did do well, I missed the cut by 3%. Although I prepared well, I regret not putting in the little extra effort required instead of wasting my time on platforms like youtube.
Learning my lesson after the results came in, I hit the pedal and worked my ass of for the last exam of the year, the selective exam. The selective exam is a state wide exam which in Victoria (where I live) is mostly sat by students in Year 8, the year level I am in. All my friends were doing it and I knew that they had a high chance of passing and going to the school. I knew not getting through was not an option as I would never hear the end of it from my friends 🙂 As such, I deleted games, blocked distractions and worked as hard as I have ever worked towards a goal. In the midst of my preparation I suffered a major freak accident which I will talk about in another post. I raised my time of study time from 1 to 3 hours on weekdays and up to 6 hours on weekends. Hence why I did not post. Sorry.
The test happened a few days ago on the 23rd of July and it was mind blowing how months of hard work was used in 5, 30 minute blocks. By the end of the exam, it felt like a major weight had lifted of my shoulders as I knew I had done my best and was for once, looking forward for the results. They have not arrived yet but I am confident they will be positive.
Unfortunately I had another freak accident 2 days ago so am still recovering but will let all of you know how I am going and the details in another post shortly
