The Craziness Of Lockdown

Hi viewers, sorry for not posting in a while, I got a bit busy with a lot of test from school and with all the pandemic craziness going on I got a little distracted. On the topic of lockdown, I cooked dinner and my first meal 3 days ago on Wednesday the second of May. I made an Indian dish called Palak Paneer which translates to Spinach cottage Cheese. This was for a class assignment in the subject Health. It was extremely fun and my sister even asked me to cook on weekends.

The reason I cooked and I am in remote learning learning is because of a lockdown imposed in Victoria. Through the new Indian Variant of this stupid virus, cases rose in my city ending a long run of a Covid-Free environment. This variant originated in India causing a massive scare and tripling an already huge amount of case numbers. Some of my family back in India including my grandmother got caught up in the Covid frenzy and caught the virus. My family back in Australia got worried and with other crises at the home front, things got worrying. Thankfully everything worked out fine and my grandmother recovered from Covid.

This got me thinking of the pandemic so I wrote a poem of how we have to stick together during these difficult times.

The Power Of Us

No we can't go places
Now we can't meet
But we somehow shall
stand on our feet

We must come
Out of this strong
So that we can undo
All that's gone wrong

We must get through these times
And bring out the sun
So that our worries end
And the pandemic is done

Soon there will be joy
Soon there will be light
On the day we mark our victory
On the day we win this fight
